The Office of Data Dissemination is within the Florida Center for Health Information and Policy Analysis (FCHIPA). The data dissemination team performs several major functions as follows:
- Maintaining the Agency website, www.FloridaHealthFinder.gov. This site provides an abundance of health care information for consumers, health care providers, and researchers. This site includes a detailed look at hospital and ambulatory data, a list of licensed health care facilities and providers in Florida with driving directions, and information on health plans, and prescription drug programs. You will also find a new consumer friendly data search tool to access hospital inpatient and ambulatory (outpatient) data. There are also numerous health care related publications to assist consumers in making well-informed health care decisions.
- Providing technical assistance to data users. Data users can contact the Data Dissemination team and request specialized reports for specific data needs that involve non-confidential data, special ad-hoc queries, and other reports.
- Coordinating data sales for AHCA. Data can be purchased from a variety of sources. The main sources of data requested are as follows:
- Hospital Patient Data
- Ambulatory Patient Data
- Emergency Department Patient Data (starting in 2005)
- Hospital Financial Data
- Psychiatric Data
- Nursing Home Data (available through 1998)
- Nursing Home Financial Data
- Comprehensive Rehabilitation Data

- Consumer brochures and other publications are produced by the Florida Center. This office creates the Consumer Awareness Series. The consumer brochures can be viewed at www.FloridaHealthFinder.gov/reports-guides/reports-guides.shtml or can be ordered free through the AHCA Call Center's toll-free number 1-888-419-3456.
