State Consumer Health Information and Policy Advisory Council
The State Consumer Health Information and Policy Advisory Council advises Agency staff regarding health information and statistics. The composition and functions of the State Consumer Health Information and Policy Advisory Council are described in section 408.05(8) F.S. and section 408.61 F.S.
The State Consumer Health Information and Policy Advisory Council encouraged and participated in the continued expansion of the Agency's consumer-oriented website, www.FloridaHealthFinder.gov.
Currently, the Advisory Council is working with the Agency to implement new requirements for data reporting contained in Chapter 2004-297, Laws of Florida (HB 1629), which was passed by the Florida Legislature in 2004. The Council has provided input on health plan data, consumer satisfaction with health plans and the reporting of infection rates.
The Advisory Council is required to meet quarterly at the AHCA offices in Tallahassee or various locations in the state. Meetings are noticed in the Florida Administrative Weekly and are open to the public in accordance with the Florida Sunshine Laws.
