The Agency has contracted with FSU to conduct an independent assessment of the Statewide Medicaid Managed Care (SMMC) Long-term Care (LTC) program, authorized under the Section 1915 (b) & (c) waivers approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.  States are required to evaluate access to care, quality of care and cost-effectiveness.

The goals of the LTC program are to replace services which were provided by Nursing Facilities (NF), the Aged and Disabled Adult (A/DA) waiver, Assisted Living (AL) waiver, Nursing Home Diversion (NHD) waiver, Channeling waiver and Frail Elder Option with long-term care and services provided by managed LTC plans.  LTC plans must provide access to care and quality of care at a level equivalent to or greater than the previous legacy waivers/programs.  The total cost of care must be equivalent to or less than the previous legacy waivers/programs.
