Independent Evaluation of the Minority Physician Networks

Brief Description of Goals of Contract:

The primary purposes of the proposed evaluation are to assemble and share detailed information regarding the implementation and operations of Florida's MPN pilot project. The information will be of value to Florida as it considers expanding the MPN program to other parts of the State. Beyond the Florida Medicaid program, the evaluation will be of interest to other states as they consider the value of MPN-type organizations within their Medicaid programs. Evaluation results will be shared with Agency and government officials and the health services research and health policy communities.

Evaluation of Florida's Minority Physician Network (MPN) Program Qualitative and quantitative research techniques were used to evaluate the MPN program. In general, it was found that Florida's Minority Physician Networks appear to offer an improved alternative to traditional MediPass.
