Mike Madden is the Director of Public Risk Services for the Florida League
of Cities. He has held this position since March 15, 2000. He is responsible
for administering the Florida Municipal Insurance Trust, which provides
insurance coverage to over 500 governmental entities in Florida. The Trust,
with $275 million in assets, underwrites workers compensation, auto, property,
liability, and medical coverages. Annual premiums for the Trust exceed
$100 million and it has been providing insurance to local governments
since 1977. Mike has also held positions as the Director of Financial
Services for the Florida League of Cities and Director of Administrative
Services for the Florida Government Finance Officers Association.
Mike earned his Bachelors Degree in Finance from Florida State University
and a Marketing Degree from Florida Atlantic University. He holds the
ARM-P designation, is a CPCU candidate and has completed course work toward
his Masters in Business Administration. Mike is a member of the Board
of Directors for the NLC-RISC Consortium.
Born in Racine, Wisconsin, Mike has lived most of his life in Florida
and is an Eagle Scout of the Boy Scouts of America.
