Allyson G. Hall, PhD, Research Director
Florida Center for Medicaid and the Uninsured, University of Florida

 

Dr. Hall joined the University of Florida in 2003 and serves as the Research Director for the Florida Center for Medicaid and the Uninsured. The primary mission of the Center is to foster and develop research and analysis on issues related to access to quality health care for Florida's low-income populations. Center faculty and staff study issues related to the Medicaid program and other delivery systems for vulnerable populations. Prior to joining the University of Florida, Dr. Hall worked for the United Hospital Fund (UHF) in New York City. She served as the principal investigator on a qualitative research project that examined the quality of primary care in New York City.

Dr. Hall also was a program officer at the Commonwealth Fund where she was responsible for managing grant programs and conducting policy analysis on issues related to access to care for vulnerable populations. In addition, Dr. Hall has worked as a health care consultant in Guyana and in Jamaica and served on the adjunct faculty at New York University. Dr. Hall is interested in issues related to access to care for vulnerable populations including Medicaid, the health care safety net, and primary care delivery systems. She has published in the American Journal of Public Health, Preventive Medicine, and the Journal of Urban Health. Dr. Hall holds a Ph.D. in Health Policy from the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health.
