Tad P. Fisher was selected as the Executive Vice President and CEO of the Florida Academy of Family Physicians in July of 2002. He joined the Academy officially on November 1st of 2002. Mr. Fisher is only the third executive hired in the 54-year history of the Florida Academy.

Prior to taking the role of EVP/CEO for the Florida Academy of Family Physicians, Tad and Christine P. Fisher established Creative Political Foundations, Inc. (CPF) in 1997. Anchoring the firm's expertise in the health care arena, Mr. Fisher has brought more than 22 years of experience as a political consultant, health care profession executive lobbyist and strategist to the firm. His depth of knowledge includes health political strategies, public affairs programming, grassroots political and public relations strategies and issues affecting the health care industry.

After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Belmont Abbey College, North Carolina 1978, Tad Fisher worked for two years on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives under the patronage of the former late Congressman Dante B. Fascell, a 38-year veteran of the House. During this period he developed an extensive knowledge of the U.S. Congress and contacts on Capital Hill.

In 1980, Mr. Fisher joined the lobbying and political consulting firm of Steve Fisher & Associates in Miami. Serving as Executive Vice President of the firm, he represented clients including: Hialeah Race Track; Florida Transportation Builders Association; Florida Burglar Alarm Association; Sunshine State Parkway Restaurants; Gladieux Food Services; Cubic Western Data Corporation; and the Florida Medical Association. During this period, Mr. Fisher also consulted in more than 40 political campaigns, where he developed an expertise in grassroots strategic planning.

In 1985, Mr. Fisher was recruited as the Director, South Florida Field Office of the Florida Medical Association. It was during this period of time he developed the fundamental knowledge of the health care industry. His duties included development of political education programs for members of the Florida Medical Association and component medical societies in Dade, Broward, Lee, Collier, Monroe and Palm Beach counties. The success attained by Mr. Fisher in the South Florida area for the Florida Medical Association's political and legislative program led to his recruitment as Executive Vice President of the Broward County Medical Association in 1988.

As the chief executive officer of the second largest county medical society in Florida, Mr. Fisher led a political and public affairs renaissance for Broward physicians. Under his leadership, the Association increased its membership by nearly 500 members and became one the most innovative physician professional associations in the United States. While serving in this position he became a graduate of the AMPAC Campaign and Advanced Campaign Management School affiliated with the American Medical Association. For his efforts improving the health care of impoverished citizens in the Fort Lauderdale area and rebuilding the medical association, Mr. Fisher was the first non-physician recipient of the Ft. Lauderdale Caducean Society Wilbur F. Helmus, M.D. Humanitarian Award in 1992.

In 1990, the Florida Medical Association recruited Mr. Fisher to Tallahassee where he served as Deputy Director, the Division of Legislation and Public Affairs. He was directly responsible for the development and implementation of the Association's national and state grassroots programs, political education, strategic lobbying activities and supervisor of personnel and operations of the Capital Office and the Association's three field office operations.

In 1993, Mr. Fisher joined Capital Strategies, Inc. and served as Vice President of one of the state's prominent public affairs and governmental relations firms located in Tallahassee. Besides building and maintaining the firm's health care clientele, Mr. Fisher also represented the City of Tallahassee, Coastal Physicians Group, First Union Bank, Florida Association of Coordinated Transportation Systems, Gasparilla Island Authority, and Florida PRIDE.
