834 Analyzer

Version 1.0 (ACS Version) and Version 2.0 (EDS Version)

The 834 Analyzer is a program that allows the display of parsed 834 data in a printable spreadsheet format. The 834 Analyzer program is not intended for use in a production environment, but rather to aid managed care plans to view their trading partner's outbound transactions. The 834 Analyzer is designed to display 834 transactions downloaded from Florida Medicaid's fiscal agent (ACS prior to 7/1/2008, EDS after 7/1/2008). The analyzer may not function properly with files produced by other entities, however, the macros are not protected and may be altered by the end user.

Excel must be set to accept macros in order for the 834 Analyzer to function. After opening Excel, click "Tools", "Macro", and then "Security." Click the radio button for "Medium" and close Excel. When reopening Excel and enabling macros, "Analyze X12" will appear on the menu bar. "Click "Analyze X12" to run the program. Clicking "Save Workbook" will save the analyzed file for future analysis. "Reset workbook" will remove the analysis worksheets. The download file includes the 834 analyzer program, user documentation, and a sample 834 file. THE STATE OF FLORIDA WILL NOT PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR THIS TOOL!
