Eligibility for Medicaid Services

Recipient eligibility for Medicaid is determined by the:

• Department of Children and Families, Office of Economic Self Sufficiency - The Department of Children and Families determines eligibility for low-income children and family programs and the institutional care program.

• Social Security Administration - The Social Security Administration determines eligibility for the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program.

Information about Medicaid eligibility criteria for children and family programs can be obtained from the Department of Children and Families web site or the local Children and Families service centers.
