Introduction to Workers' Compensation

House Bill 1643, signed into law on April 25, 2002, transferred many of the responsibilities for the oversight and regulation of Florida’s Workers’ Compensation from the Department of Labor and Employment Security to:

Section 440.134, Florida Statutes: Workers' Compensation Managed Care Arrangements

    • Regulation and oversight of Florida’s Workers’ Compensation Managed Care Arrangements
    • Authorization, examination and compliance monitoring of an insured’s workers’ compensation managed care arrangement including approval of a workers’ compensation managed care arrangement’s plan of  operation.
