Long Term Care Services
Assisted Living Unit State licensure of:
- Assisted Living Facilities,
- Adult Family Care Homes, and
- Adult Day Care Centers.
Facility Data Analysis Unit
Manages nursing home staffing reports as well as adverse incident reports and
liability claim reports received by the Agency from nursing homes and assisted
living facilities.
Provides support, data quality assurance, training and report development relative
to the Florida Regulatory Administration Enforcement System (FRAES).
Long Term Care Unit
State licensure and Medicare and Medicaid certification of:
- Nursing homes,
- Intermediate care facilities for the developmentally disabled,
- Homes for special services,
- Transitional living facilities, and
- Prescribed pediatric extended care centers.
Provides background screening services for health care facilities currently licensed by the Agency.
On-Line Reporting
Portal for Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities to submit, via the Internet, mandated reports for adverse incidents, liability claims, staffing, and available beds.

ideas that directly impact quality of care or quality of life of nursing home
residents beyond minimum standards.

The Teaching Nursing Home Project
Based on Chapter 430.80, Florida Statutes, the teaching nursing home project
was implemented to provide multi-disciplinary geriatric education and research.
The GeriU website is available to provide
in-service training for nursing home staff and includes the 4-hour mandatory
Alzheimers training. Suggestions for other needed trainings are welcome!

Care Advance Directives
Minimum Data Set (MDS) A
standardized definition of items used to improve quality of care by assessing
the needs and functional status of residents in long term care facilities that
participate in the Medicare and/or Medicaid program.
